Jeanne C Snyder

Jeanne is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her Master’s degree in Counseling from Seattle University was completed in 1980 and in June 1992 a postgraduate certificate of completion in Marital and Family Therapy from the Montlake Institute.Her experience includes individual, couple, family and group treatment as well as staff supervision, training and administration. She subscribes to the Code of Ethics and Professional Standards of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy of which she is a Clinical Member.

In 1993 Jeanne completed Level 1&2 training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In 1995 she completed training as an EMDR Facilitator to assist in training. She has been trained in and incorporates the family constellation method developed by Bert Hellinger. In 2009 she earned her certification as an instructor of Zhineng Qigong and is now certified through Level 7 and offers classes. Most recently she has been certified in Yuan Gong, another style of Qigong, Level 1 & 2).

From a holistic context, Jeanne focuses on methods of healing that accelerate resolution of personal and family issues. With thirty years in the profession, she specializes in trauma resolution, adult recovery and transpersonal issues with individuals, couples, and families. She is an EMDR facilitator and consultant for peer therapists.

A Northwest native, Jeanne enjoys raising her two sons with her husband, paints and is passionate about her spiritual path. Her approach to counseling will vary according to the differing needs and presenting issues of the participant. Generally her therapeutic orientation includes family systems theories, trauma theory, psychodynamic theory, grief work, adult children of dysfunctional families and group therapy.
